Obituary of Cindy D. Tessmer

RIPLEY - Cindy D. (Reed) Tessmer, age 48, of East Main Street, Ripley died Sunday, May 10, 2009 at home following a brief illness. Cindy was born on September 1, 1960 in Grove City, PA the daughter of the late Harold W. Reed and LaVonne (Kerr) Reed of Ripley. Cindy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ripley where she served as Nursery Director and a Sunday school teacher. She was a graduate of Grove City High School and earned her degree as an LPN. Her greatest love was raising her family and making a loving home. She greatly enjoyed being a "Mom". She was an avid cook who was known for her baking, especially her pies, cakes, cookies and brownies. Cindy was also a giving person who enjoyed helping others. She could always see the good in people. She enjoyed gardening. Besides her mother LaVonne, of Ripley, she is survived by her husband: Steven M. Tessmer, whom he married on February 14, 1989 in Westfield, her four daughters: Mary Ann (James) Gruber of Bemus Point, NY, Stefanie M., Sierra A. and Angela G. Tessmer, her three sons: Steven M. Tessmer, II, Sawyer E. and John M. Tessmer all of Ripley, NY, her three Grandchildren, Madeline, Elsa and Atlee Gruber all of Bemus Point, NY. Cindy is further survived by her sister: Ruth L. (Don) Demarco of Sharon, PA and her three brothers: Robert P. Herrle of Elbert, CO, Jerry F. Herrle of Wilderville, OR, and Cris A. Reed of Olmsted Falls, OH. Friends may call at the MASON FUNERAL HOME, 37 Clinton St., Westfield on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and are invited to attend the Funeral Services on Thursday at 11 AM at the First Baptist Church of Ripley, 9869 East Side Hill Road, Ripley, with the Rev. Donald Eggleston officiating. Burial will be in Quincy Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Ripley, 9869 East Side Hill Road, Ripley, NY 14775 or to the Tessmer Family Children's fund in care of the church.
