Westfield - Charles P. Criscione, age 99, of Washington Street, Westfield died Saturday June 19, 2010 at St. Vincent Health Center, Erie after a brief illness. Mr. Criscione was born December 26, 1910 in Westfield, NY, the son of the late Peter and Patrina (Grizanti) Criscione.
He retired from NY and Penn Central Railroads as a Supervisor of Track in 1969 after 43 years of service. He was at one time a butcher and was well known in the area for his homemade sausage. He was a founding member of the 5 Jolly Fellows musical band who performed from 1928 to 1942. He was a life member of the American Railway Supervisors Association Lodge # 335-W, Moose Lodge 118 of Westfield, St. Dominic Roman Catholic Church of Westfield, and an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by two daughters, Patricia (Thomas) Bollow of Colorado and Charlotte (Samuel) Messina of Arizona, his five grandchildren, Thomas Bollow, and Charles (Francie) Bollow of Colorado, Ann (Jeffery) Taylor, Deborah (Michael) Barrett, and Daryle (Pamela) Messina all of Arizona, seven great-grandchildren, Joshua Messina, Ryan and Brooke Barrett, Ashley Messina, Zachary and Austin Taylor, all of Arizona, Nicholas Bollow and step great-grandchild Sandro Liberato of Colorado, and a step-son, Isadore (Cindy) Barlow of Jamestown, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Charlie was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Conti Criscione, who died in March, 1994, his second wife, Rose Barlow Criscione, who died in May, 2008.
his brothers Angelo, Peter, Joseph, and Jerry Criscione and his sisters, Sarafina Criscione, Rose Criscione , Angeline Messina, Concetta “Connie” Schultz, Sarah Smith, and a step-son, James Barlow.
Friends may call on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, from 4 PM – 7pm at the MASON FUNERAL HOME, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield and are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Wednesday morning at 11:00 am at St. Dominic
Roman Catholic Church, with Fr. Marius Walter officiating. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery
