Obituary of Johnnie M. Bryant

WESTFIELD - Johnnie M. (Pearl) Bryant, age 79, of McClurg St., Westfield died unexpectedly, Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Buffalo General Hospital, Buffalo, NY. Johnnie was born on December 20, 1931 in Greenville, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Johnny and Elsie (White) Pearl. She married Charlie L. Bryant 09/10/1976 at Arkwright, NY. A Westfield area resident since 1971, she moved here from Mississippi and had worked for Better Baked Foods at the Westfield plant, CARTS, and for the former Westfield Health Care Center as a caregiver. However, her main love was raising and caring for her family. She enjoyed fishing and word puzzles. Johnnie was an avid reader of fantasy fiction and enjoyed the works of Andre Norton. She is survived by her husband: Charlie L. Bryant, whom she married on Sept. 10, 1976 in Arkwright, NY, her seven daughters: Roberta Carter of Metcalf, MS, Charlene Davis of St. Louis, MO, Queen Pearl of Dunkirk, NY, Elsie Lee Wright of Lake Wales, FL, Alice Eichelberger of Westfield, NY, Barbara Eichelberger of Erie, PA, Janice Volk of Cuba, NY and her two sons: Will Thompson of Jamestown, NY, Samuel Eichelberger of Cudjoe Key, FL. Johnnie is further survived by her many grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Pearl of Metcalf, MS. She was preceded in death by her four brothers, Verdell , Clarence, and L.C. "Friz" and Aaron Pearl. Friends may call on Monday, December 27, 2010 from 4-7 PM at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, and are invited to attend the funeral service on Tuesday morning, December 28 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church of Westfield, 101 East Main Street, with Rev. Matthew Golibersuch officiating. Burial will be in Westfield Cemetery. Memorials may be made for her family in care of the Funeral Home.
