Obituary of Toni Sherman

Antoinette “ Toni” Sherman. 80, of Westfield, NY passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022 at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dunkirk, NY.

She was born in Westfield, NY on September 29, 1942, the daughter of the late James and Arlene (Rose) Conti

Toni is survived by her son, Mark Lobell; a daughter, Stacey (Philip) Bafaro; a step-daughter, Kathy (Donald) Snyder; a brother, James (Rose) Conti; eight grandchildren, Michelle (Samantha) Twombly, Kaila Cote, Elysa (Jed Deruyte) Bafaro, Westin, Mitchem, Bethany and Mindy; several step-grandchildren; also many nieces and nephews. Toni is also survived by loved ones Laurie (Terry) Lindstrom.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Sherman and a sister, Janice (the late Clebert) Cochran.

Toni was a lifelong area resident , who graduated from Westfield Academy and Central School in 1960.She worked for the Westfield Memorial Hospital as a cook retiring with more than thirty years of service.

Toni was admitted to the Benjamin Prescott Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1974 and served as Regent from 2010-2013. She volunteered for several years at the Westfield Soup Kitchen. She was very patriotic and mapped graves of all the veterans in several local cemeteries to be sure they were honored on Veterans Day.

She loved cats, enjoyed genealogy and was a very talented seamstress.

Friends may call at the Mason Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St. Westfield, NY on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 from 5-7 PM, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 10 AM. Interment will be made in the Union Cemetery.
