Obituary of Alberta J. Markham

WESTFIELD - Alberta J. (Jaquith) Crandall Markham, age 78, of Westfield, died Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Westfield Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. Alberta was born on January 8, 1935 in Columbus Township, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Glenn and Nellie (Frisby) Jaquith. A Chautauqua County resident most all of her life, Alberta was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed raising her family and doing needle point. Alberta loved children and enjoyed babysitting for many children in the Westfield area. She had resided at Springwood apartments where she was an avid card player and enjoyed putting puzzles together with her friends. She had been a member of the William P. Jackway Post 6764 VFW Aux. She is survived by her four daughters: Sarah (Michael) Brown of Panama, NY, Patricia Chambers of Waverly Hall, GA, Ella (David) Peterson of Whitehouse, TX, Linda Landon of Sinclairville, NY and her six sons: Leonard (Dianna) Crandall of Sherman, NY, Chester (April) Crandall of Stockton, NY, Charles (Barbara) Crandall of Westfield, NY, Glenn Crandall of Westfield, NY, George (Marie) A. Crandall of Westfield, NY, and Harold (Eileen) Crandall, Jr. of Erie, PA. 27 Grandchildren, 44 Great Grand Children and 3 great great grandchildren also survive. Predeceased by her first husband, Harold E. Crandall, her second husband William Markham, and infant daughter, Barbara J. Crandall and her son, Henry J. Crandall and her grandson, Jonathan Crandall. Friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 3:00 PM in Westfield Cemetery with Rev. Matthew Golibersuch officiating.
