'My Grandpa was many things to many people, a husband, father, friend, and brother. He played many roles in life and he approached them all with determination, dedicatioon, and strength, all the while carrying a light heart, no matter how heavy the load. He stood by many people as they stood by him, along with Gus, Peanut, and Queenie. A prankster and a jokester, everybody could tell you a story or two about something he said or did. He will be remembered forever as a man who would never pass up a good game of rummy, a man who would tell you to look the other way while stealing your pizza. A man of few words but many opinions. Some will remember a fishing partner, all will remember a man who served his country and his family. A good man that could make you smile. He will be greatly missed by all but he will also be able to carry on in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren forever. Good-bye, We love you Grandpa.' To My Dad: I never knew how much you meant to me until the earth quaked as your breath began to shake and I knew that time had passed on by. You used to hold my hand like the days before as I held your hand the days before you passed and when I was a little girl. Death runs through the sands of time, but; yet, in life you stood to life misgivings and brought joy and laughter to all you knew and you fought as you risked your life for freedom I never could imagine how deeply your love ran; but, as the sands of time wash away we grab onto the memory of days long past and we pray that tonight you take away the sadness left behind. Please hold my hand as I look at water, let the sand run through my fingers like the sands of time. I will grab at the memories that I won't let leave my mind like time you smiled at me and made the troubles turn to ease, but; I know you have passed us by on the wings of a dove carrying you up to the sky above the golden path you walk and the days now will pass us by as we lift our up our prayers new journeys for all of us to follow. With that sparkling light will be your smile as bright filling us with joy and love making us alright and as the dove flys high above we know were loved from the one man who shared himself with everyone, my dad. I love you.

Dear Allene and Family, Gosh, where do I begin.....First, we share the incredible loss you are feeling right now. It was truly an honor to have known Marty.
