WESTFIELD - Clelia Mary (Caffo) Billerio, age 99, of Route 20 Westfield, NY, died Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Westfield Memorial Hospital.
Clelia was born on September 20, 1914 in Venaus, Italy, the daughter of the late Camillo and Virginia (Montabone) Caffo. At the age of 16 she came to the United States to begin a new chapter in her life that would be filled with a loving family and caring friends, many hobbies and travels abroad.
As co-owner of Billerio Fruit Farm in Westfield, NY, she worked tirelessly alongside her husband, Frank. She thrived on seeing her customers return year after year and developed many lasting friendships.
Mrs. Billerio was a member of St. Dominic Roman Catholic Church of Westfield and a life member of St. Dominic Parish Altar and Rosary Society.
Her strength of character, religious devotion and caring concern for others were great sources of inspiration.
Clelia is survived by two daughters: Silvia (Giulio) Mannino of Fredonia, NY, Geraldine (William) Tastle of Endicott, NY and two sons: Frank (Sherry) Billerio of Coral Springs, FL, John P. Billerio of Westfield, NY. She also has six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: grandson, Stephen (Fiancée Lynn Carter) Tastle; granddaughters: Michelle Cool (fiancé Scott Miller), Jennifer (David) Kristof, Clelia Anna Mannino, Rosaria Mannino, and Rebecca Billerio; great grandson, Ryan James Cool; great granddaughter, Ashlyn Cool.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Billerio, whom she married on November 27, 1941 in Coudersport, PA, and who died on November 4, 2000, by her sister Luigina Caffo Sevinsky, and a brother who died in infancy.
Friends may call on Friday evening, November 1, 2013 at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, NY, from 5-7 PM, and are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at St. Dominic Roman Catholic Church, 15 Union Street, Westfield, NY with Father Joseph Walter officiating. Burial will be in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Jamestown, NY.
A Parish Rosary will be held at the funeral home Friday afternoon at 4:30 PM.
