WESTFIELD - Marilyn (Anderson) Elder, age 86, a longtime resident of Westfield, and a resident of the Chautauqua Nursing And Rehab Center of Dunkirk, NY for the past 3 years went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 26, 2015.
Marilyn was born on January 11, 1929 in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of the late LaVerne and Mildred (Carlson) Anderson.
She married William Elder in 1948 and had been a dedicated homemaker for many years, raising their 5 children. She was a very kind and caring mother and wife. She later worked at Better Baked Foods in Westfield and retired from there after 17 years. Marilyn enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends and especially her Church family at the Lakeshore Assembly of God, where she was a member for several years. She enjoyed selling Avon products, going to Ceramics Classes and often going on Senior Citizen's trips with her husband.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Tony) Mele and her daughter In law, Luanne (late Donald) Elder both of Westfield. She is futher survived by 11 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death her husband, William Elder, who died on July 23, 2015, her 2 sons, Donald L. Elder and Ronald Elder, her 2 daughters, Sandra Whitcomb and Cheryl Krehan and by her step-sister, Nila Field and step-brother, Howard Cady.
Friends may call at the Lakeshore Assembly of God, 252 East Main Street, Westfield, NY on Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 11 AM until the time of Services there at 12 Noon with Rev. Vincent Sanzo officiating. Private burial will be in Westfield Cemetery.
