Anna and I have been friends since we were 4 years old. My family moved to Northern Virginia (suberbs of Washington, DC) in 1978. It was a very big change for me to go from rural grape country to urban/suburban chaos. Anna came to visit me about 15 years ago and flew into Dulles International Airport. When I went to pick her up her first words were "you can come and visit me from now on". She said she didn't like our traffic, our airports, our wait times at restaraunts. She had no desire to live any place other than Westfield. For the last 40 years she has kept me updated on classmates and what they were doing, who had died, who had moved into town, what was happening in Chautauqua County and most importantly the weather. we talked many times about snow storms because here in our area if there are snowflakes in the air the Government and School Systems shut down and everything closes. I will miss our friendship, our laughter, our tears and the weather reports. I thank you and your family for allowing me to be a part of your lives for so long.

To Anna's family, I'm so very sorry to hear of Anna's passing. She was a treasured member of the Class of '76 and will be missed by many. So many classmates spoke of her easy smile and great personality. She was a true gem. I don't know if she minded being called "Anna Banana" and I don't know why she ever got that nickname but to me, she will forever be remembered by that fond name she given in high school. May God Bless you all. We've lost a wonderful soul here on earth.
