Obituary of Margaret S. Mills

WESTFIELD - Margaret S. "Peggy" aka 'The Spice Lady' Mills, age 77, of Westfield, NY died Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at home. Peggy was born on August 5, 1938 in San Francisco, CA, the daughter of the late Harry W. and Virginia C. (Stone) McBirney. Peggy married Keith G. Mills on March 25, 1956 and together they raised four children. Keith preceded her in death on June 12, 2005. Margaret had been self employed and was the proud owner of Spice Harbor, a specialty Spice business, doing what she loved, selling a variety of spices from The Crossroads Market in Westfield, NY where she had spent many years meeting new people and especially being with her close friends and vendors. She will be sadly missed by all that knew her. In her spare time, Peggy enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by one daughter: Kristen (Terry) Brolinski of Lewiston, NY and three sons: Michael K. (Kim) Mills of Cleveland, TN, Martin "Marty" S. (Janice) Mills of Wilson, Kenneth P. "Ken" (The late Roseanna) Mills of Ransomville, NY she also has nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Cherished granddaughters are Amy, Shannon, Alicia (Jesse) Mills-Heyder and Nicole Forsyth, loving grandsons, Jonathon, James, and Joshua Mills, Christopher Brolinski, and Tom Vance, great granddaughters, Maria Rose Vance, Melanie Carr, and Emilee Mills and great grandsons, Damian, Aiden, and Bryce Mills. Peggy is further survived by her three sisters; Virginia (the late Jack) Frazier, Kelly Hinde, and Kim Welty, one brother, H. Scott McBirney, and by her step-mother, Doreen McBirney, and close-cousin Ginny Meadowcroft. Many cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive. Calling hours will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 2-4 PM at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, NY 14787 and again on Monday, February 1 from 4 until 6 pm at the Rhoney Funeral Home, Inc. , 901 Cayuga Street, Lewiston, NY 14092 . The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 9:00 am at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, in Lewiston, NY. Burial will be in Witmer Cemetery, Town of Niagara, NY.
