WESTFIELD - C. Ruth Cade, age 96, of Westfield, died Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Absolut Care of Westfield in Westfield, NY, following an extended illness.
Ruth was born on April 12, 1920 in Winburne, PA, a daughter of the late Gustav A. and Martha Margaret (Turik) Nowatka.
Mrs. Cade was a member of the First Baptist Church of Westfield and The Gideon's Missionary Society.
A Westfield resident since 1960, Ruth was a 1938 Graduate of Batavia High School. She had been a longtime faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Westfield where she was the Director of Music and Church Organist for many years. She had been employed by several area Auto Dealers as the Office Clerk and retired from the former Beckman-Everts Ford in Westfield. Ruth had volunteered at the YWCA of Westfield, the former Westfield Health Care Center and at the Barcelona Information booth.
She is survived by her daughter: Tamara B. Cade of Dunkirk, NY, her sister, Martha Reckenberg of Batavia, NY and her two brothers, George Nowatka of Louisville, KY and David E. Nowatka of North Chili, NY.
She was preceded in death by her Husband of 43 years, George R. Cade, whom she married on July 26, 1945 and who died on June 20, 1989 and by her two sisters, Elizabeth Polowe, and Anna Nowatka, and by her brother, Charles Nowatka.
Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date by the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St., Westfield, NY.
