Obituary of Allen L. Vogt

Allen L. Vogt, age 64, of Derby, NY, formerly of Westfield, died Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo following a brief illness. Allen was born on April 23, 1953 in Westfield, NY, the son of the late Alfred G. Vogt and the late Wanda J (Nuttall) Pipher. A 1971 graduate of Westfield Academy and Central School, Allen had been employed by Ridg-u-Rak in North East, PA, Mogen David Wine Co. in Westfield, and retired from American Axel and Manufacturing of Buffalo as a Millwright. He enjoyed Deer hunting, fishing and being in the great outdoors. Allen had been a member of the Masonic Lodge of NYS and the Springville VFW. Family was a huge part of his life, especially his grandchildren. He was an awesome cook; and loved working on cars. Allen had a big heart and would help anyone in need. Everywhere he went, he made a new friend; or he already knew someone there! Survivors include his loving companion of over 29 years, Carolyn VanKirk of Derby, his two daughters: Layla (Dan) Vogt-Herlehy of Hamburg, NY and Danice Vogt of Portland, NY, and his son, Jesse Vogt of Colorado. Allen was the proud grandfather of Emily and Lucas Vogt both of Hamburg, NY. He is further survived by his three sisters, Judy (Rick) Rupczyk of Westfield, NY, Hilary "Hi-Dee" (Kirk) Jaynes of Rochester, NY and Medie Paddleford of Atlanta, GA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews including Robert Chrispen of Westfield, NY. Friends may call at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, NY, on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 4-7 PM, and are invited to attend the Funeral Services there at 7 PM with Rev. David G.
