Obituary of Robert J. Zachary

WESTFIELD - Robert J. "Bob" Zachary, Sr., age 84, of Woodlawn Dr., Westfield, died Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at home with his family by his side, following an extended illness. Bob was born on July 25, 1933 in Dow, OK, the son of the late Tom and Mbale (French) Zachary. He married Esther Hanson. A Westfield resident most all his life, Bob was a 1951 graduate of WACS and had been a member of the Painters Union out of Buffalo for several years. He later went on to own and operated Robert Zachary Painting and Zachary Apartments in Westfield for many years. Bob enjoyed fishing and boating, working on his apartments and puttering around his home. However; what Bob really enjoyed was the time spent with his family, his grandchildren and his friends. He is survived by his three sons: Thomas R. (Bernadette) Zachary of Westfield, NY, Kenneth (Karina) Zachary of Jacksonville, FL and Robert J. (Marjorie) Zachary, Jr. of the Philippine Islands. Several Grandchildren, many Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther (Hanson) Zachary, who died on July 24, 1995 and by his daughter Patricia "Trish" Johnson. In keeping with Bob's wishes, no calling hours will be observed and all Services will be private. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Chautauqua County, 20 West Fairmont Avenue, Lakewood, NY 14750.
