Obituary of Diana B. Parker

MAYVILLE - Diana (Bourne) Work Parker, age 84, of Mayville, NY, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab Center in Dunkirk, NY.

Diana was born on June 21, 1934, in Westfield, New York, the daughter of the late David W. and Margaret G. (Pierson) Bourne, Sr.

Diana was a 1952 graduate of Westfield Academy and Central School. Following graduation, she had been employed by the former Ajax Flexible Coupling Company for several years.  Diana had also worked alongside her family on the family Grape Farm on McKinley Road in Westfield for many years.  She enjoyed baking, canning, gardening (vegetables and flowers) and was an avid reader.  Diana was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She cherished the time she spent with her family. 

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Thomas A. Parker, whom she married on November 6, 1982, and her 2 sons, Edward (Laurie) Work, Jr. and John (Suanne) Work, both of Westfield, and her 3 daughters, Brenda (James) Sutton of Augusta, KS, Deborah (Bruce) Weaver of North East, PA and Cynthia Work of Mililani, HI, as well as by her step-son, Lane (Gretchen) Parker of Mayville, NY.  Diana was the proud grandmother of, Kevin Ptak, Shannon Sutton, James Sutton, Joshua Sutton, Raquel Smith, Carl Rizzo, Anthony Rizzo, Edward Work, III, and John Work, II, as well as Justin Parker, Samantha Gilmore, Benjamin Parker, Sarah Pfleuger, Stephanie Parker, and Katie Parker.  Diana is further survived by her brother, David W. (Linda) Bourne of Westfield and by her sister, Judith (Floyd) Bennett of Webster, NY. Many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her first Husband, Edward Ralph Work, Sr. and by her step-daughter, Anita Diana Parker. 

Friends may call on Monday, February 18, 2019 at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St., Westfield, NY from 11 am until 1 PM. A time to share memories and remembrances will immediately follow at the funeral Home.  Burial will be private in Westfield Cemetery.
