Obituary of Gladys M Morton

WESTFIELD - Gladys Mae (Hotchkiss) Morton, age 95, of Westfield, New York, passed away on November 6, 2019 at home following an extended illness.

Gladys was born in Elgin, PA on May 21, 1924, a daughter of the late Virgil and Mabel (Lee) Hotchkiss. She went to high school at Corry Area High School.  She was a dedicated homemaker and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.   Some of her fond memories where of her Pioneer Girls and her Sunday school classes.  She enjoyed tying and picking grapes. She was an active member of the West Portland Baptist Church.

She married Lawrence E Morton, Jr.  on February 17, 1942 in Winchester, Virginia. Sadly, Lawrence passed away on May 11, 2011.  In addition to Lawrence and her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her brother Virgil Hotchkiss, and her sisters, Florence Bates and Grace Connors as well as 3 additional sisters in infancy.

Gladys is survived by her daughters, Loretta (Albert) Beckerink, of Corry, PA, Lugene (Gary) Folz of Leola, PA and Laura (Tedd) Wilkins of Westfield.  She is further survived by her grandchildren, Alisa (Rod) Puckly, Kevin Vanderhoof, Robert (Kelley) Folz, Ryan (Shannon) Folz, Pamela (Gary) Henry and Amanda (Jason) Pacanowski.  13 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild to be also survive.

A private graveside service will be held by the family with Burial in Union Cemetery Westfield, NY.
