So sad to read of Mr. Lynn's passing. I had him for Seventh grade Algebra, which I barely squeaked by. But he was a great teacher. I remembered struggling in class one day, and I ask him "When are we ever going to use what you are teaching us in our lives? He thought for a moment and said back, "You tell me when you will use this, I do not know what your life will encounter in the future!"
I probably did not grasp what he meant at the time but it was so true! Years later after moving back to Westfield, I would see Mr. Lynn working at the Presbyterian church or other functions and he would always have a big smile on his face when greeted. I'm sure he didn't know my name but knew I must have been a student. RIP Mr. Lynn you surely will be missed by many.
